Atlas Insurance has renewed its main sponsorship of Melita FC for a further three years, extending a long-standing partnership that dates back to 2009 and placing the development of young players at the heart of its support.
The agreement will support the club across its activities, with particular emphasis on its nursery and the development of youth football. This includes Melita FC’s new and growing girls’ team, widening opportunities for young players to become involved in the sport.
The partnership has also given rise to the annual Atlas Football Festival, which brings young footballers from different clubs together on the pitch. The sixth edition, held in November 2025, welcomed nine teams for an Under-11 tournament at Melita FC’s Football Ground and Sports Complex in Pembroke.
Matthew von Brockdorff, Managing Director and CEO of Atlas Insurance, stated: “Our partnership with Melita FC has grown over many years, and this renewal reflects our belief in what sport can contribute to young people’s lives. It is encouraging to see young players coming through the nursery and, particularly, more girls being given the opportunity to discover and enjoy football. Extending our support for another three years allows us to continue investing in something with a lasting value, giving young people opportunities to participate, develop and be part of a team.”
Matthew Naudi, President of Melita FC, said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Atlas Insurance, whose support has been instrumental in helping Melita FC grow both on and off the pitch. Atlas has always shared our vision of developing young players, promoting participation, and creating opportunities for boys and girls to enjoy football in a positive and inclusive environment. Their commitment has played an important role in the success of our academy and in the continued growth of youth football at the club. We look forward to building on this strong relationship.”
The sponsorship forms part of Atlas Insurance’s wider commitment to supporting initiatives that contribute positively to community wellbeing, with youth participation and development among the areas it continues to support.
